Kurt Angle spent many years away from WWE, but in 2017 he finally came home. Kurt returned at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, and he headlined this year’s class. When asked whether or not the company had big plans for Kurt beyond the induction, WWE officials played coy, but it’s clear that they do have big plans for the Hall of Famer.

Only a few days after Kurt Angle’s WWE Hall of Fame induction, Vince McMahon appeared on Raw and appointed Kurt the new General Manager of the show. Since then Kurt has been holding things down in the authority figure role, and most fans seem to agree that he plays the role well.
Although fans are happy to see Kurt Angle back on TV on a weekly basis, we’re all still wondering when he might return to the ring, and it looks like Kurt’s current storyline is setting up his return to the squared circle.
Last week WWE kicked off a storyline on Raw which revolves around a mysterious text message that was brought to Kurt Angle’s attention by Corey Graves. After Graves showed Angle the message, Kurt said that it could ruin him. This week Kurt Angle once again showed his phone to Corey Graves while they shared a private conversation, and Corey Graves refused to reveal any details when asked about it by his fellow commentators.
It was recently reported that the storyline is being used to bring Stephanie McMahon back to Raw, and it looks like it could also be used to set up Kurt Angle’s opponent for WrestleMania 34.
According to WrestlingNewsWorld.com, Kurt Angle’s mysterious text storyline is being used to set up a match with Triple H at WrestleMania 34, although it was noted that it wouldn’t be surprising if WWE bumps the match up to SummerSlam.
With the way Raw viewership has dropped as of late WWE is in desperate need of storylines that will keep viewers intrigued, hence the focus on Kurt Angle and the Enzo/Big Cass storyline.
Kurt has said several times over the past few months that he believes he will wrestle inside a WWE ring once again, and now it looks like it’s just a matter of time before he laces up the boots once again.
