john cena

A few weeks ago John Cena made his triumphant return to WWE SmackDown Live, but John is no longer a SmackDown Live exclusive superstar. The 16 time WWE World Champion is now a free agent, which means he can make the jump to Raw at any time to feud with stars on the red brand.

This week on SmackDown Live, Cena battled Shinsuke Nakamura in a number 1 contenders match, and it was Shinsuke who picked up the victory after he put John Cena away with the Kinshasa. Shinsuke Nakamura will now go on to challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam, and many fans have wondered what’s in store for John Cena.

After Nakamura defeated Cena, Baron Corbin made his way into the arena to attack Nakamura, but Cena made the save and put Baron Corbin through the announce table. This angle was done to set up a match between Corbin and Cena for SummerSlam.

According to Sportskeeda, John Cena’s SummerSlam match with Baron Corbin will be his last match with the SmackDown Live brand before he moves to Raw. This doesn’t mean that John Cena will be moving to Raw permanently, but WWE officials do want him on the red brand in the fall in hopes that his presence will help the company with ratings during football season.

John Cena vs. Baron Corbin will likely be added to the SummerSlam card on the next episode of SmackDown Live.

On this week’s episode of Still Real Radio we’re talking about the Road to SummerSlam, and the fallout from Monday Night Raw and this week’s WWE SmackDown Live.
