For many years WWE wouldn’t even consider signing former Impact Wrestling stars, but times have changed. AJ Styles is the current WWE Champion, Samoa Joe is a big player on Raw, Bobby Roode is on SmackDown Live, and now it looks like another former Impact Wrestling star is WWE bound.
It was recently reported that former X-Division Champion Rockstar Spud is expected to be making his WWE debut soon, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Impact officials aren’t happy about the fact that he signed with WWE.
According to the report, Impact spent $20,000 in fees to correct the issues with Spud’s visa that prevented him from working in the United States. Two weeks after all of the issues were sorted out, Spud reportedly asked for his release.
It’s worth noting that according to initial reports about Spud’s release, the paperwork issues with his visa were caused by the Dixie Carter era regime at Impact.
Rockstar Spud is set to join the cruiserweight division, and it’s likely that he’ll be featured as one of the division’s top stars on 205 Live.
Hideo Itami also recently confirmed that he’s set to make his debut with the cruiserweight division at next week’s WWE tapings.
