Last night on Raw Neville unfortunately suffered an injury while he was trying to perform a baseball slide. Neville looked like he was having a tough time after that and the match came to an awkward conclusion.
The match ended when Chris Jericho pushed the referee and got himself disqualified. If the finish seemed awkward that’s because it wasn’t the original plan for the match. It was noted by PWInsider that Jericho improvised the finish so that he could get disqualified and cut the match short due to Neville’s injury. No word on what the original finish was supposed to be.
WWE’s doctors confirmed this morning that Neville fractured his left ankle on Raw. As of right now it’s not known how long he will be out of action but he’s expected to miss WrestleMania 32.
Before he was injured WWE had yet to announce any official plans for Neville at the event. Neville made his debut on the WWE main roster the night after WrestleMania 31, so this would have been his first WrestleMania.
Chris Jericho will continue on to WrestleMania 32 where it’s expected that he will face AJ Styles for a fourth time. You can check out the rest of the lineup for WrestleMania 32, along with details on other matches that are rumored by clicking here.
