Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton went one on one during the main event of SummerSlam a few weeks ago and Lesnar destroyed Orton. Randy will get another chance to slay The Beast when the two face off once again at the WWE live event in Chicago, IL on September 24.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the reason why Brock is working the September 24 live event instead of Clash of the Champions the next night has to do with his pay. Brock’s contract calls for him to be paid differently for pay-per-views and live events.
WWE asked Brock Lesnar to work the live event and he agreed. It was also noted that Brock picked his own opponent based on who he thought would draw at the box office that night.
The first ever Universal Champion Finn Balor is out of action due to an injury that he suffered at SummerSlam.
Finn recently appeared on The Ross Report and he noted that his original timeline for his return was 4 to 6 months, but when he underwent surgery they found some extra problems.
PWInsider noted that torn labrums can sometimes keep athletes out of action for 8 to 9 months. There was some hope that Finn Balor would be able to return for WrestleMania 33, or Royal Rumble 2017, but it’s too early to tell when he will return at this point.
