PWTorch.com is reporting that Austin Aries requested to be released from his WWE contract because he wasn’t happy with his position in the company. According to the report, Aries was unhappy about being pigeonholed as a cruiserweight, and he saw a lot more for himself than being a 205 Live star.
It’s also being reported that Austin Aries had a reputation for having a bad attitude backstage, which could have made it easier for the company to grant his release.
Aries has been out of in ring action for a few weeks now, and he last appeared on 205 Live on June 20 when he announced that he’s not cleared to wrestle.
It’s believed that Austin Aries will be making his return to the independent scene in the near future.
