CM Punk won the AEW World Championship when he defeated Jon Moxley in the All Out main event, and MJF made his big return shortly after. However, both of these events have been overshadowed by the comments Punk made at the post-show media scrum where he took shots at Colt Cabana, Adam Page, MJF and the AEW EVPs.
Following the media scrum it was reported that CM Punk and Ace Steel got into a physical altercation with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega and now everyone is waiting to see where the situation goes from here. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful recently commented on the situation on Twitter and noted that the heat on CM Punk is “unreal” heading into Dynamite.
“Right now AEW talent have not been told anything official. Almost all I’ve spoken to believe CM Punk will have to go or make major amends to remain with the company. A lot of the talent haven’t arrived where Dynamite broadcasting from yet, but the heat on Punk is unreal.”
No one from AEW has commented publicly on the situation as of this writing, but it was recently reported that no one involved in the backstage fight is expected to be at Dynamite this week. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
