Backstage Details On WWE’s Reaction To Christian Signing With AEW

Last week on AEW Dynamite Paul Wight hyped up a “hall of fame worthy” signing for the Revolution pay-per-view, and on Sunday night Christian made his debut with the company when he signed his AEW contract.

Back in January Christian shocked the world when he made his return to the ring during the 30 man Royal Rumble match, and there was some speculation that he would continue to compete for WWE, but obviously that wasn’t the case.

Fightful Select is reporting that higher ups in WWE were let down when they found out Christian had signed with AEW. However, it was also noted that WWE acknowledges it’s the fault of the company for not locking Christian into a deal.

While it’s not clear when Christian will be making his next appearance for All Elite Wrestling, following Revolution Tony Khan noted that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion is interested in competing on a regular basis.
