A few weeks ago Mustafa Ali started making headlines after he publicly declared that he wanted to be released from WWE. However, Ali is still with the company and there’s currently no signs that they’ll be releasing him.
Fightful Select reports that they learned via a WWE source that the term “value” was used in regards to why WWE is keeping Mustafa Ali under contract. The expiration date for Ali’s contract is unknown, but it’s being said that he has “well over a year, at least” on his deal.
Mustafa Ali has not been brought back to TV since he got into an argument with Vince McMahon over creative direction, and there are currently no plans for Ali, but that could change at any time. It’s also being said that there is little if any correspondence between Ali and WWE currently.
It’s also being reported that at least one WWE talent pitched an idea for Mustafa Ali to eliminate him in the Royal Rumble, and they were questioned about whether or not Ali would be interested, but Ali made it clear via Twitter that he was not.
no, i would not like to be in rumble. i would like my release.
