Last week the WWE Draft kicked off of on Friday Night SmackDown, and the draft kicked off in a big way. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods returned to TV, and they managed to defeat Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.
However, it was announced right after that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods would be going to Monday Night Raw, while Big E will be staying on SmackDown.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE officials want to give Big E a singles push, and in their minds they can’t do that if he’s part of The New Day.
The thought is that Big E has potential to be a big singles star, and if they go all the way with his push then people will be happy with that.
Stay tuned for more updates on the draft as they become available.
