NXT has come a long way over the last few years and even though the brand is capable of standing on its own it’s always a big moment when a NXT star gets called up to Raw or SmackDown.
Last week on Friday Night SmackDown fans saw Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox get called up, and it was also announced that Toni Storm will be joining SmackDown soon as well. It was also recently reported that Mandy Rose has been traded to NXT with Aliyah getting called up to Raw.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that when the advances came in for WWE’s first tour dates since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic Vince McMahon looked at the situation and declared that there’s no fresh, new or exciting on the main roster.
Vince then went to NXT with the idea that he wanted to freshen up the main roster and push new stars hard as soon as they’re called up. It’s also been rumored in recent weeks that Karrion Kross and Bronson Reed could be getting called up. Stay tuned for updates.
