The coronavirus pandemic hit the wrestling industry pretty hard, and so far WrestleMania 37 has been the only WWE event to have fans in attendance since the world went into lockdown.
Now PWInsider is reporting that WWE officials hope to start out with some test live events in the summer. However, it was noted that the company is currently in the planning stages, and that everything depends on where things stand nationally with the pandemic, as well as local rules and regulations that may be in place for certain cities.
It’s being said that in a perfect world the company would like to see live events return in July or August, but the company is currently coming up with a strategy on how to best handle the situation. Company officials are reportedly paying close attention in regards to how numerous “waves” of the pandemic have played out nationally.
It’s possible WWE will do a few test runs on weekends, but so far no dates or venues have been locked in.
WWE is currently waiting for the right moment to take the next step forward when it comes to live events.
