They say that anything can happen on WWE Monday Night Raw and earlier this week Riddle came across Raw Women’s Champion Asuka backstage while he was riding his scooter.
Riddle held his scooter and asked Asuka if people in Japan like scooters. The United States Champion then laughed, said “I’m sorry I forgot what I was saying,” and rode off.
It was noted on Wrestling Observer Live that the botch was not scripted and Riddle legitimately forgot his lines. Bryan Alvarez noted that the botch entertained Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard, which is why it made it to TV.
“It entertained Bruce, it entertained Vince and so it went on television. That’s the story on Riddle and forgetting his line. He actually forgot his line and they thought it was funny.”
There’s some speculation that the segment might have been pre-taped, and since Vince McMahon thought the botch was funny he left it in the show.
