Recently the wrestling world has been buzzing about CM Punk and Daniel Bryan as it’s been reported that both men are AEW bound, and anticipation is building for their impending debut with the company. Punk and Bryan are two of the biggest names AEW could have signed at the moment, and it seems that the company is intent on building up their roster.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast it’s rumored that Vince McMahon is very upset, and WWE management is very angry. It was noted that losing Daniel Bryan is a disappointment for WWE, but not so much for CM Punk.
There’s said to be no one in the office who feels the company “f’d up by not signing” Punk. There are some people who feel that CM Punk’s stock is not what it normally would be and that his losses in UFC hurt him.
It’s also being said that talents understand what a big deal this is but there are people in management who worked with CM Punk when he was very unhappy and that’s the memory they have of him.
Zarian also noted that CM Punk was not in negotiations with WWE, and the company is not too concerned about Punk, but “a certain network is not very happy” about Punk joining AEW. Stay tuned for updates.
