It’s been a while since fans have seen John Cena make an appearance on WWE programming, but the former WWE Champion’s return has been rumored for months now.
On Sunday night Roman Reigns successfully defended his Universal Championship against Edge in the main event at Money in the Bank, and while Roman was celebrating John Cena made his surprise return at the end of the show.
Fightful Select reports that the idea going forward is that John Cena is a free agent who is not limited to just one brand. Current plans call for Cena to appear on several upcoming shows.
John Cena vs. Roman Reigns is reportedly locked in for the SummerSlam pay-per-view which will take place from Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, August 21.
