It was reported yesterday by F4WOnline.com that WWE has signed AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows. Dave Meltzer followed that report up on Wrestling Observer Radio by saying that WWE has some surprises planned for this year’s Royal Rumble and it’s possible that some of these stars could appear in the match.
It’s also being reported that Nakamura and Styles were not signed to be part of the NXT brand and that both stars came with a high price tag. It’s possible that they work some NXT shows in the future but it looks like the plan is to have them work the main roster.
Nakamura still needs to drop the IWGP Intercontinental Championship so he’s not expected to work in WWE until that happens. As for AJ Styles, NJPW ran an angle at the New Japan Pro Wrestling Dash event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan where the Bullet Club turned on Styles as Kenny Omega took control of the group, so it looks like he’s officially done with the company.
