The first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble is going to be a pretty big deal and WWE will probably want to make it as memorable of a moment as possible. This is why there have been rumblings of Rowdy Ronda Rousey at the Royal Rumble as well as some stars of the past who really do deserve to be a part of this amazing moment.
Let’s just consider how amazing it would be if Trish Stratus, Lita, Michelle McCool, and Kelly Kelly were inserted into the show? It might be possible because you never know what could happen in WWE, especially when they’re trying to create a big moment in history.
It turns out the announcement Stephanie McMahon made on Raw where she said there was going to be a Women’s Royal Rumble in the first place had some strategic planning behind it as well. WWE was trying to figure out a way to invoke an emotional response right from the get-go and they pulled it off in a big way.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reports everyone in the ring was left in the dark concerning what was going to happen to close out Raw. I guess they just thought the show would end with a big brawl this week? All of this was done in an effort to keep the news of the announcement from leaking but the writing was kind of on the wall for a while.
After all, ever since WWE padded the Women’s Division on both shows, many people have been assuming they would finally pull the trigger on a Women’s Royal Rumble this year.
But it will happen this year and if you were wondering why the women in the ring seemed to have such an authentic response, then that is the reason why. Because they had no idea what was going to happen in the first place. It was certainly an announcement that shook the pro wrestling world.
