When Austin Aries first signed with WWE in 2016 it seemed that fans had high hopes for his run with the company, but his stint with WWE was fairly short. Aries worked his way through NXT and 205 Live, and he even got to compete at WrestleMania 33, but the company announced his release in July of 2017.
Austin Aries went on to return to Impact Wrestling, but his run with Impact wrapped up in 2018. During a recent interview with Sportskeeda Aries was asked if WWE reached out to him after his second stint with Impact, and he confirmed that they didn’t.
“No, they did not [reach back after my second stint with IMPACT]. I think there was a wonderful experience there. I think we both got to see what the other had to offer and I just don’t think that’s a bridge that is going to be crossed again.
I don’t personally really have any interest in going back there and I’m sure they probably don’t have a lot of interest in bringing in a 43 year old, under 6 foot, white guy.”
