Asuka Dealing With Nagging Injury Heading Into NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III

This weekend in Brooklyn, Asuka will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Ember Moon in a situation where many fans are expecting that The Empress of Tomorrow will suffer the first loss of her WWE career, which means she will also drop her championship to Moon.

Asuka has become the greatest champion in NXT history, but there is still so much more for her to do on the main roster. She’s expected to move to Raw or SmackDown Live shortly after Summerslam weekend, but Asuka may need some time off to heal a nagging injury.

It’s being reported by CageSideSeats that the current NXT Women’s Champion is dealing with some kind of an injury heading into NXT Takeover: Brooklyn this weekend. However, it isn’t believed to be a serious injury and she’s not expected to miss any time after this weekend.

Hopefully, Asuka’s momentum won’t be stopped dead in its tracks as a result of an injury just before she makes her big transition to the main roster. It’s not a guarantee that she will drop the title to Ember Moon on Saturday night either, but that loss is likely coming soon. It would not be the first time someone’s push onto the main roster has been thwarted by a big injury.
