The WWE Universe witnessed the heartbreaking split of Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano when The Psycho Killer turned his back on his long-time friend at NXT Takeover: Orlando back in April.
Enzo Amore and Big Cass have also seen their friendship come to an abrupt end in recent weeks after it was decided that Enzo was holding Cass back. It seems that the heartbreak isn’t completely over for the WWE Universe either as rumors now suggest that The Hype Bros are the next team on WWE’s list.
Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder have some fond memories as a team after their time together in NXT and they have come close to winning Tag Team Championship gold on a number of occasions. The duo failed to defeat The Usos last week, it seems that now is the time WWE has chosen to allow the best friends to go their separate ways.
The Independence Day Battle Royal saw Ryder’s true colors when he eliminated Rawley in the hopes that he would win the match and become the new number one contender to the United States Championship.
There is depth in the current tag team scene on SmackDown Live now that The New Day have come over from Raw and the likes of American Alpha and The Ascension are still being underused. The split could give these teams a real chance after a few weeks of Chad Gable being used in singles competition without Jason Jordan.
This could be the move that Zack Ryder has been waiting for, he is a former Intercontinental Champion and his partner won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royale whilst Ryder was out injured so it will definitely be an interesting next few months for the duo.
