There are a few things that a talent needs to do before they make the jump over to WWE. One of the primary things that WWE requires of its talent is that they cease all external merchandise sales unless you’re a big enough name to be able to pull that off like Steve Austin, but even the Rattlesnake can’t put “Stone Cold” on his merchandise sold anywhere but the official WWE Shop.
Well, rumors have been running rampant recently that the Broken Hardys are on their way to WWE. They haven’t signed a new deal with Impact Wrestling and they’ve been telling promoters that they can’t book any dates past May because they don’t know what they’ll be doing yet.
Now there is another sign that Broken Matt Hardy might be preparing for WWE once more. Hardy is closing up his online store in the coming weeks as ShopMattHardy.com will be running a blow-out sale soon to liquidate its merchandise.
There could be a very valid reason that this store is closing up shop for good very soon as Hardy’s wife, Reby who handles all orders is pregnant with their second child and needs to take a break from the responsibilities to focus on other things. She said, “It’s been a lot of hard work doing things all on my own- shirt design, site design/orders, customer service, shipping, etc. – but I am no longer able to run the shop in the way Matt’s fans deserve. I will likely revisit the idea after the new baby is here, but for now, it’s impossible to be @BabyHardyBrand’s Mommy, while making another kid; there are just too many sick/slow days to run properly.”
Sounds like a likely story, so it very well might be as simple as the reasons given at face value. However, it very well could be just one of the basic steps required to make the move to Vince McMahon’s Land of Powerslams.
