For weeks now Randy Orton has been receiving advice from a mystery person and there’s been a lot of speculation regarding the person’s identity. Orton has been shown talking with the person on the phone and after the first phone call was featured on WWE programming he teased that wrestling has more than one royal family.
Many fans have been trying to guess the person’s identity in recent weeks, and the rumor mill picked up earlier in the week after Cody Rhodes referenced Vince McMahon during a segment with Stephanie McMahon on Raw. However, it was recently reported that Vince McMahon is not the person Randy Orton has been talking to.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that although The Rock fits the bill and would be the biggest addition to WrestleMania, those in the company have denied that he’s the mystery person.
It was also noted that if it was The Rock the reveal would likely be kept secret from everyone besides Triple H, Nick Khan and maybe Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. The impression is that they have a name lined up that only those in the inner circle are aware of.
After weeks of speculation the rumors will finally be put to rest tonight as Randy Orton has confirmed that the mystery person’s identity will be revealed on SmackDown.
