Later in the night Thekla challenged Kris Statlander for the AEW Women’s Championship in a strap match that resulted in Thekla piking up the victory over the champion.
Near the end of the match Skye Blue and Julia Hart made their way out and Hart tried to attack Statlander while Blue distracted the referee. Kris Statlander used the strap to fight them both off, but she Thekla managed to connect with a spear followed by a stomp to pick up the win and become the new AEW Women’s Champion.
After the match Skye Blue and Julia Hart helped Thekla beat down Kris Statlander. However, Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter came out to make the save for the former champion. Windsor and Hayter stood tall as Thekla, Blue and Hart looked on from the ringside area while the show went off the air.
