WWE’s first-ever Women’s Tournament has been a long time coming. According to The Observer, WWE named the tournament the “Mae Young Classic” because Mae was always Stephanie McMahon’s favorite. But for whatever reason this tournament still promises to be an excellent display of female talent from all over the globe.

Fans will be exposed to women wrestlers they might not have seen before. Women will travel from all over the world to Full Sail University to participate in this landmark contest of skill and endurance. With so many exceptional athletes showing up WWE needed a commentary team that fit the bill.
It turns out WWE has found two people who are the right fit to make up the commentary team for the Mae Young Classic and they’re no strangers to the WWE Universe. After many rumors of who WWE will go with, the official announcement was made today that WWE Hall Of Famers Jim Ross and Lita will be comprising the announce team for the Mae Young Classic.
This is fantastic news and a great choice. Lita knows what it is like to be in the ring and is quite familiar with all the risks involved. The Queen Of Extreme has suffered many injuries inside the squared circle and will no doubt be a great color commentator for the tournament.
On the other side we all know how outstanding of an announcer Jim Ross is. This team will only add another reason that the Mae Young Classic will be a “can’t miss event” and who knows, if they do well together it might be just the beginning for this pair.
So tune in on August 28th to watch the tournament from the beginning. It will certainly be binge-worthy especially with the outstanding commentary team not to mention the exceptional talent that will be competing.
