Mickie James made her return to WWE last week when it was revealed that she was the star under the La Luchadora guise.
It seems WWE has come up with an incredible angle when it comes to Alexa Bliss and Mickie being together, as Mickie stated this week on SmackDown, she is there to prove that The Women’s Revolution started long before The Four Horsewomen.
Mickie is the most decorated female wrestler in WWE right now as a former five-time Women’s Champion and as a partner for Alexa Bliss, she will definitely be able to give her some advice when it comes to experiences in the ring.
Mickie teams with Alexa and Nattie on Sunday night at the Royal Rumble, against the team of Nikki Bella, Naomi and Becky Lynch. It seems WWE has worked this out perfectly since Nattie was also a forgotten female when it came to the Divas Revolution in 2015.
Nikki, Naomi and Becky were all part of the revolution on three separate teams which bodes well for WWE as the storyline moves forward.
That being said, Alexa and Mickie were always going to be a mismatched team, Alexa has the SmackDown Women’s Championship and in WWE, champions can never have friends. Mickie will want that title at some point, regardless of how much she says she doesn’t and on Talking Smack last night, Mickie dropped the first hints of tension in the Bliss/James friendship.
When Shane McMahon asked Mickie about her partnership with The Wicked Witch of the WWE, James replied: “Not everyone can remain friends forever.”
The former Women’s Champion refused to go into any further depth about this statement, but it does leave the WWE Universe questioning whether or not Alexa and Mickie can remain on the same side for their match in just five days time.
The women of WWE will once again be making history at the Rumble this weekend since it’s the first time in WWE history that there have been three women’s matches at a Royal Rumble event.
Charlotte defends her Raw Women’s Championship against former friend Bayley, whilst Sasha Banks is out for revenge in her match against Nia Jax and Mickie, Alexa and Nattie take on the team of Nikki Bella, Naomi and Becky Lynch.
Mickie James may be against all of the women who started the Women’s Revolution a few years ago, but in all honesty, she is actually continuing to play her part.
Mickie’s heel character from back in 2006 was one of the best female gimmicks in a long time and the fact that WWE has allowed her to come back with the same kind of character means that the WWE Universe are in for some fantastic matches.
Mickie James began talking about the WrestleMania moments that she had already made when she spoke to Renee Young on SmackDown last night and alluded to the incredible match between herself and Hall of Famer Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 22.
This match proved just how good Mickie was and it was where Mickie picked up her first of five Women’s Championships. That being said, the WWE Universe are already speculating that Mickie will play a part in proceedings at this year’s event, in a match against either Becky Lynch or Nikki Bella.
Mickie spoke about working with Nikki and how she wanted to move on from all the speculation and rumours about the relationship between herself and John Cena that ended up costing her a relationship with her fiance Kenny Dykstra.

Mickie is ready to move on now as a wife and mother and wants to be able to work with Nikki without things becoming awkward for her, so it would be interesting to see how a match between the two women panned out.
One thing is for sure, adding Mickie James to the SmackDown roster was a stroke of genius and she definitely adds a new dynamic to the entire division, something that WWE will hopefully explore in the coming months as they begin their build-up to WrestleMania 33.
