Women’s wrestling has evolved in a major way over the last few years, and the women of WWE have been making history. They’ve main evented Raw and SmackDown Live and last year Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair main evented a WWE pay-per-view for the first time ever when they competed in the first women’s Hell in a Cell match.
This year saw the introduction of the first ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, and it’s been rumored that we could see the first women’s Royal Rumble, and/or first ever women’s Elimination Chamber match in 2018.
It looks like 2018 is shaping up to be a big year for women’s wrestling, but two WWE Superstars will be looking to make history one more time before 2017 comes to a close.
WWE has confirmed that Alexa Bliss will be defending the Raw Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks at the WWE live event in United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, on Friday, and it will be the first ever WWE women’s wrestling match to take place in the UAE.
Alexa Bliss has already made history during her short career on the WWE main roster, as she’s the first women to ever hold the Raw Women’s Championship, and the SmackDown Women’s Championship, and Sasha’s resume features some noteworthy accomplishments as well.
Congratulations to Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks.
