Following her match with Alexa Bliss at the 2023 Royal Rumble premium live event, Alexa Bliss took a long hiatus from WWE so she could focus on becoming a mother. Fans patiently waited for Bliss to return and she ended up making a big comeback when she entered the women’s Royal Rumble match back in February.
During a recent appearance on the Nikki & Brie Show, Alexa Bliss talked about how her return came together, and she noted that she didn’t receive a call about being in the Royal Rumble until the night before.
“I got the call at midnight the night before, and it wasn’t fully decided until like 4am, and I get a call at 5, they’re like ‘we need you on a plane by 10am.’”
“I hadn’t slept because this was an all night process of figuring out, I hadn’t eaten, I was deliriously tired. No one knew I was there. Not even the girls knew until I was in Gorilla. No one knew.”
Alexa Bliss has been regularly featured on WWE programming in recent weeks as she’s been involved in a storyline with Charlotte Flair. It’s been confirmed that Bliss & Flair will be competing for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in a four way match at Evolution 2 against Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez and two other teams to be determined.
