Alexa Bliss was called up to the WWE main roster last summer during the draft, and she immediately became one of the top stars on SmackDown Live. After a few short months, Bliss became the SmackDown Women’s Champion, and she eventually became the first ever two time SmackDown Women’s Champion.

At WrestleMania 33, Naomi returned and defeated Alexa to win the belt, and shortly after everything changed as Alexa was sent to Raw in the Superstar Shake-up. She later earned a shot at the Raw Women’s Championship, and she challenged Bayley for the belt Sunday night at WWE Payback.
Alexa Bliss made history on Sunday night, because she became the first woman to ever hold the SmackDown Women’s Championship and the Raw Women’s Championship.
Bayley defended her title in her hometown of San Jose, CA, and the crowd was fully behind her. Unfortunately the support from the fans just wasn’t enough to help Bayley walk out with the belt, because Alexa Bliss put her away with a DDT.
The win came as somewhat of a surprise as most people expected Bayley to retain the title in her hometown. However, it seems that WWE officials must be very confident in Alexa Bliss, because she just made history.
