Alexa Bliss is currently the number one contender for the Smackdown Women’s Championship and also a Muscle and Fitness cover model. So needless to say, life is going pretty well for Ms. Bliss.
She recently talked to Cleveland.com and here are some highlights:
At Backlash you dressed like Harley Quinn, where did this idea come from?
I am a Harley Quinn fan. I am a big fan of characters in general. When I was in NXT, we would dress up in themes like Freddy Krueger and Iron Man. [Buddy] Murphy, who wrestles in NXT, just recently dressed up as Two-Face. And I was like, man wish I could do that stuff. I really want to do a Harley Quinn inspired outfit. So he helped me come up with it.”
Harley Quinn is a villain but a character people love, would that be a good description for Alexa Bliss?
“I love being a villain. It’s just so much more fun. Fans like Harley Quinn. I don’t think Alexa Bliss, as a character, cares what people think.”
You made your debut alongside the rest of the Smackdown Women’s division. What was that like?
“That was really, really cool. It got to show there are a lot of women in this division. Sometimes on Raw and SmackDown you only see two or three women in an episode. But we’re all into it and we’re going to be the leaders of this division.”
Does being a former bodybuilder make landing on the cover of Muscle and Fitness Hers more special?
“It was one of those things I never really did in the bodybuilder world. I was really focused on getting my pro card. I remember when I started, my coach said, “You’re either going to be really good or really bad. How serious do you want to take this?” Once I got my pro card, I started to focus on maybe doing magazine stuff. And then the opportunity with WWE presented itself. But it was one of those things that was on my bodybuilding and WWE bucket list.”
