WWE has announced that Alberto Del Rio has been suspended for 30 days. They posted the following announcement on their website:
“WWE has suspended Jose Rodriguez (Alberto Del Rio) for 30 days effective tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 18, for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.”
Alberto Del Rio wrestled John Cena this week in the main event of SmackDown Live. Cena was able to defeat Del Rio after he put him away with the AA.
Del Rio is the second high profile WWE Superstar to be suspended for violating the Welless Policy over the past few months as Roman Reigns recently returned from a 30 day suspension in July.
