AJ Styles stepped into the ring for the last time when he faced off against Gunther in a career threatening match at the Royal Rumble. In the end it was The Ring General who picked up the win and now AJ’s in-ring career is seemingly over.
This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw featured a special tribute to AJ Styles and The Phenomenal One officially retired when he took off his gloves and left the in the ring.
After AJ delivered a heartfelt speech the WWE roster made their way out into the arena to pay tribute to The Phenomenal One. The Undertaker then made a surprise appearance and he told AJ that he is set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2026.
Bodyslam is reporting that WWE would like for John Cena to induct AJ Styles into the WWE Hall of Fame. As of right now AJ Styles and Stephanie McMahon are the only two names who have been confirmed for the 2026 class.
John Cena recently spoke to SI about what’s next for AJ Styles and he said, “What do I think AJ Styles should do next? Gosh, he has earned the right to do whatever he damn well wants. He has spent so much of his life really risking his health for all of the fans of sports entertainment. He was NWA World Champion, he dominated over in Japan, he worked for TNA, he worked for WWE. He can do whatever he wants. He has earned that right.”
