There is a lot of speculation about what WWE officials have planned for Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania. It’s been reported that he’s expected to wrestle, but his opponent hasn’t been announced. The only thing we know is that it will likely be someone from the SmackDown roster.
According to a report from CageSideSeats.com, WWE is considering a feud between Shane McMahon and AJ Styles for the grandest stage of them all. McMahon vs. Styles may not be what the WWE Universe had in mind, but it would have a strong face vs. heel dynamic.
In fact, The Phenomenal One would have to amp up his heel persona by several notches to sell the match for two reasons. The first is because although the WWE Universe has universal love for Shane O’Mac, making the fans dislike Styles will be a challenge for McMahon at Wrestlemania 33.
The second is that Styles is on an elite list of being one of the best wrestlers in the world, so trying to convince the WWE Universe that Shane McMahon has a chance to beat him is going to be the biggest challenge of this feud. However, the story of McMahon vs. Styles has all the makings of a big time WrestleMania match with a big fight feel.
