It’s a good time to be a TNA Wrestling fan as the company is gearing up for the big Impact premiere episode on AMC next week. For years AJ Styles was the face of Total Nonstop Action and The Phenomenal One was able to make an appearance at the Slammiversary pay-per-view last year thanks to TNA Wrestling’s partnership with WWE.

It was reported last month that TNA Wrestling officials were hoping to get AJ Styles for the AMC premiere on January 15th, and today Styles was confirmed for the event when the following announcement was posted:

“BREAKING: “The Phenomenal” @AJStylesOrg returns to TNA on January 15 for the @AMC_TV premiere episode of #TNAiMPACT at the Curtis Culwell Center in Dallas, Texas. @AMCPlus”

At this point in time it’s not clear what AJ’s role will be on the show, or if he will be stepping into the ring. Styles previously indicated in an interview a few months ago that WWE would not allow him to wrestle a match for TNA Wrestling, but there’s no word on whether or not the company has changed their stance.

“It’s NXT that has the partnership, not the main roster talent. Listen, I wish I could do it. I think I should be the only guy to do it, but that’s being very selfish. We’ll see what happens in the future, I don’t know necessarily. We’ll find out together,” Styles said.
