AJ Styles was set to compete in a Fatal Four-Way match on Monday night, but the former WWE Champion was pulled from the match due to injury.
Baron Corbin took AJ’s place in the match then went on to win the Fatal 4-Way, and he also attacked AJ Styles backstage during the show.
The Phenomenal One shared an update on his status while he was streaming on his Mixer account, and he said that it’s just wear and tear, and he hopes to be back soon.
“I’ve got something going on with my AC joint. It’s rubbing up against bone and we thought I had a fracture. It may not be the case, which is a good thing. It may require a shot to keep the swelling down. It’s not a major injury. It’s just wear and tear. Hopefully, it doesn’t keep me out for very long. I can’t stand being out but I haven’t had rest in a long time. So I’m going to take time to rest my body so I can be back. WWE has made sure we’ve dealt with this injury properly. Trust me, I want to be back. I want to earn my money.”
It should be noted that as of this writing AJ Styles is still being advertised for WWE Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia on June 7, but he’s not being advertised for live events until June 27.
