AJ Styles has been lucky enough to accomplish a lot throughout the course of his long professional wrestling career, and he’s currently one of the top stars in WWE.
However, The Phenomenal One doesn’t intend to wrestle forever. Last year AJ Styles signed a new multi-year deal with WWE, and he’s said in the past that it would be his last contract.
During a recent Twitch stream Styles opened up about his future and he talked more about his reasons for wanting to retire.
“I want to retire. I really do. I’m going to give you a breakdown of what’s going on this Friday. I’m going to leave – and listen, it could be a lot worse, but with everything going on with the COVID and whatnot, I’ve gotten to see my kids’ practices. That’s really cool for me. My son’s games for varsity football are on Friday nights. I perform on Friday nights.”
“This Friday isn’t one of those. For whatever reason, they moved it to Saturday. He’s going to have a Saturday football game and I’m going to get to see it. I’m so happy about that. He’s starting on varsity on kickoff returns as a freshman. That’s pretty cool. I wasn’t ever that good, so, good for him!”
Luckily for wrestling fans AJ Styles still has time left on his WWE deal, so it’s likely that he’ll be around for a while longer, but fans who are expecting him to have a career like Ric Flair probably shouldn’t get their hopes up.
