AJ Styles was lucky to have a long career in the professional wrestling business, but his in-ring career came to an end last month when he was defeated by Gunther at the Royal Rumble.
During this week’s episode of Raw, AJ Styles delivered a heartfelt retirement speech in front of his family and fans in Atlanta, GA. After the show he appeared on Raw Recap and The Phenomenal One revealed his honest assessment of his own retirement tour.
“I look at my own retirement tour as pretty good. Some quality matches. The matches that me and Dragon Lee had with New Day, making those moments that we had in those tag matches, they were fun, they were entertaining.
“Then to go and have a singles run with a couple guys in that same frame as John Cena, Shinsuke Nakamura, CM Punk and Gunther. Those were some good matches. Those were some good match-ups.”
While AJ Styles is officially retired now fans will be seeing him again sooner than later as The Undertaker announced on Raw that AJ will be getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. You can get more details on who WWE has in mind to be AJ’s inductor here.
