AJ Styles is one of the top stars in the wrestling business, and last year he had a lot of things to consider when his WWE contract was coming to an end.
Ultimately Styles ended up signing a new deal with WWE, but Matt Jackson of The Young Bucks recently revealed that AEW was interested in signing Styles.
According to Matt Jackson, the plan was to have Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson jump the guard rail during the AEW Dynamite debut for a Bullet Club reunion.
During recent Twitch stream AJ Styles confirmed the talk and noted that money was never discussed, but there were talks about him joining AEW.
“Yeah, there were talks. Look, it’s a business. My contract in WWE was going to expire and there were talks happening. The Bucks are my buddies,” Styles said. “We never discussed money or anything, but there were talks about coming in. Again, it’s all business.”
