AJ Styles defended his WWE World Championship against John Cena and Dean Ambrose at No Mercy, and the highly anticipated WWE Title match kicked off the show. All three men fought hard, and the match was action packed from bell to bell, but it was AJ Styles who walked out with the gold.
At one point John Cena and Dean Ambrose both had AJ Styles in a submission hold, and AJ tapped out. The bell rang, but the referee ordered the match to continue because there was no clear winner.
The end came when Dean Ambrose and John Cena were battling in the ring, and Cena hit an AA on Dean Ambrose from the top rope, then AJ Styles rushed the ring and beat John Cena down with a steel chair.
Styles then pinned Cena to win the match.
