Last week on SmackDown Live, AJ Styles defended his WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan in the main event, and after he lost the match, Daniel Bryan beat the former champion down.
Styles was later replaced by Jeff Hardy who teamed up with Charlotte Flair for Mixed Match Challenge that night, and it was thought that AJ had only been pulled temporarily.
However, WWE confirmed this week that AJ Styles will not be returning to the Mixed Match Challenge tournament.
AJ Styles did not appear on SmackDown Live this week, but it was announced that he’ll be challenging Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title at TLC, and he’s expected to appear on next week’s episode.
The updated brackets for Mixed Match Challenge can be seen below.
