AJ Styles was drafted to Monday Night Raw last year, and he reunited with his friends Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows on the red brand.
For a number of months Styles, Gallows and Anderson operated as a unit, but their run came to an end last month when WWE released Gallows and Anderson from their contracts.
With Gallows and Anderson no longer by his side AJ Styles was traded to SmackDown, and during a recent episode of the After The Bell podcast AJ commented on the trade when he said, “Doing something different is good for me. I needed a change. Losing Gallows & Anderson really hurt me.”
Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson had signed new contracts with WWE in July of 2019, and The Phenomenal One showed remorse as he said that he immediately felt responsible when they got released.
“I brought their names to WWE and when they got released, I immediately felt responsible for them because I helped them get here and I wanted them to stay. I thought, if I hadn’t encouraged them to stay maybe they wouldn’t be behind right now. A lot of it fell on me and I felt like I let them down. I talked to them about this and I was just crushed. I’m the oldest and I didn’t take care of them. That really bothered me. And it still does.”
It’s believed that Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows will be free to go wherever they want when their non-compete clause expires on July 15th. It’s not clear where they’ll be going next.
