AJ Styles has officially retired from in-ring competition as he was defeated by Gunther in a career threatening match at the Royal Rumble premium live event last month. WWE paid tribute to AJ Styles on this week’s episode of Raw and The Phenomenal One delivered a heartfelt speech in front of the fans in Atlanta, GA.
After the show went off the air AJ Styles appeared on Raw Recap, and he named Penta and Chad Gable as two WWE stars he wanted to work with more before he retired.
“There are some guys that I wanted to work with that I didn’t have a chance to, but I have worked with them, meaning I have tagged with them. I wonder what it would be like to be in there with Penta, like to go back and forth.
I mean, I would love to get back in the ring with Chad Gable. I say I would love that, here I am retired, that’s not gonna happen. But so many qualified wrestlers that I would love.”
During AJ’s appearance on Raw, The Undertaker made his way down to the ring to announce that Styles will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. It seems that WWE already has a big name in mind for AJ’s inductor and you can get more on that here.
