Before AJ Styles was the Phenomenal One we know him as today he was making a name for himself in the business just like anyone else. Even though Styles has managed to accomplish great things all over the world since the beginning of his career, it appears he never forgot his roots.
AJ Styles blew the roof off of the Amway Center in Orlando, FL, when he jumped over NXT to dive straight into the deep waters of the main roster at the 2016 Royal Rumble.
Styles has been in a number of amazing programs since then with various top-notch Superstars and he continues to entertain on a weekly basis. But nobody expected to see him pop up in Georgia on Saturday night.
Styles made a surprise appearance at the NWA Wildside Reunion show with his WWE United States Championship in tow, and the crowd was more than happy to see him. It was an amazing thing for him to do.
AJ had his humble beginnings in the Georgia-based promotion. His first matches were with National Championship Wrestling, but this company would eventually join up with NWA Georgia to form NWA Wildside.
As you can see from the pictures below he looked great just popping in to say hello. This night meant a lot to him and he obviously wasn’t going to miss such a reunion show.
So, the next time someone asks you what makes AJ Styles so Phenomenal, you can just show them this article. Styles didn’t have to pop in and appear at this show because his WWE schedule keeps him plenty busy. But he did appear and those in attendance were “excited beyond words to see and hear him” at the Wildside Reunion show.
He might have his share of problems to worry about on SmackDown Live, but on Saturday night it wasn’t about looking to the future for Styles. Because he had plenty of happy faces from his past to reacquaint himself with.
