Following his loss to Cody Rhodes at WWE Clash at the Castle a few months ago AJ Styles spent some time laying low as he worked a handful of live events while he was off television.
The Phenomenal One finally made his return during the October 4th episode of SmackDown and he faced off against Carmelo Hayes in a singles match. Unfortunately for AJ Styles the referee called for the match to be stopped after Styles seemingly suffered an injury.
There’s been a lot of talk about the status of AJ’s injury over the last few weeks and the former WWE Champion confirmed that he suffered a Lisfranc injury when he posted the following:
“It’s called a Lisfranc injury. Look it up, it sucks! I thought when I took off my boot. I would have a bone sticking out of my foot.”
One fan noted that the same injury took Cam Newton out in 2016 to which Styles responded with, “Bingo, as the kids say….I’m cooked!”
Stay tuned for more updates on AJ Styles’ injury status as they become available.
