We are on the Road To WrestleMania so nobody has time to be injured, especially the WWE Champion. But unfortunately, that might be the reality we’re all forced to live with.
AJ Styles is set to lock up with Shinsuke Nakamura at the Show Of Shows but a recent injury might get in the way of that. Although the jury is still out on AJ Styles’ injury status, it might not give us the results we’re hoping for once it comes in.
“The only update is that he was getting evaluated on [Monday] afternoon. He was in Dallas, I don’t know what happened from there. I’ve heard nothing other than it was happening,” Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio. “I don’t even know the injury. I know that the injury in the Garden, the injury they did a knee injury angle so that may mean it’s a knee injury. The severity of it, I mean I just think it’s interesting how the lengths that they’ve gone to keep it quiet.”
“I can’t say that they really — it’s more that nobody knew because today was the day that they were having him evaluated. So I think that really — we may hear something [on Tuesday]. But whatever it is I don’t think they want it out.”
“I can’t believe that it is that minor because if it was minor we would be told it’s minor, it’s nothing to worry about. We have certainly not been told that. Is it Mania threatening? Look, we’re only 3 weeks away from Mania so obviously if there’s any chance he may go — it could be a lot of different things. I think if there’s any chance he can do Mania and postpone if he’s gonna need something done I think that he will do that. I think he wants that match. But that may not be a possibility.”
“Or you know, again maybe it’s not that serious you know cause mania is a big payday.”
This is certainly a scary situation because Styles is finally at a place he’s deserved to be in for years and now that he has a WrestleMania main event match it might all get taken away. It is especially frustrating since fans have begged for a one-on-one encounter between Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura since the two ended up in WWE together.
Only time will tell though, but it might be best to cross your fingers on this one.
