AJ Styles

AJ Styles is one of the top stars in WWE, and he’s the current WWE Champion. Since joining WWE in 2016, Styles has accomplished a lot, but he was already a seasoned veteran by the time he joined the main roster at the Royal Rumble.

Experience certainly isn’t something that Styles lacks, as he’s wrestled all over the world, and he’s held major championships in various promotions. But no one can wrestle forever, and Styles doesn’t intend to try.

The current WWE Champion recently appeared on 97.9 The Box with Drew McIntyre to promote this weekend’s WWE events, and he hinted that he only has a few more years left before he’ll be hanging up the boots and focusing on his family.

“Work hard now, you enjoy it later,” Styles said via WrestlingInc. “In a couple of years, I’ll be able to catch every football game, every baseball game, every basketball game, cheerleading, gymnastics, whatever they’re in.”

Styles joked that right now because he’s away from home so much he has to discipline his children over the phone.

The hosts made it clear that they don’t want AJ Styles to retire, but the WWE Champion brought up the fact that he’s getting up there in age when he said, “Man, I’m 40 years old!”

Even though he may only have a few years left, AJ’s career isn’t over yet. He will compete in the biggest match of his career on Sunday night when he faces Universal Champion Brock Lesnar in a non-title match at Survivor Series.
