In the world of professional wrestling a good entrance them can go a long way, and many fans would agree that AJ Styles had one of the better themes on the WWE roster. However, The Phenomenal One debuted a new theme titled “You Don’t Want None” at WrestleMania 40 last year when he faced off against LA Knight. Styles used the new song up until he returned with his old entrance theme at the Royal Rumble back in February.
Recently the former WWE Champion spoke to Chris Van Vliet about why he decided to change his theme music last year when he turned heel, and he also explained why he thought it was time to bring back his old entrance music when he returned.
“It was my call to change it [when I turned heel] too. Because as a bad guy I thought my song was a little too cool. Everybody loves that song. I love the song, but that’s not who I was trying to be. I wanted you to not like me, that you despised me. I thought well if I change the song up, people are going to hate it, perfect.”
“Then when I know I was coming back and I’m going to be the good guy again, I was like I want my old music back. And nobody said anything. They were like, yep, that’s fine. So yeah, that was my decision.”
