AJ Styles recently spoke to Brian Fritz of Between The Ropes about WrestleMania 32 and more. AJ Styles made his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble back in January and a few days before the event TNA made a shocking claim. They claimed that Styles had signed a deal with them and by going to WWE he wasn’t honoring his commitment. You can read the full statement that TNA put out back in January by clicking here.
Styles was asked about the claim and said that he never signed anything other than a letter of intent.
“I had signed a letter of intent. I agreed to ‘this is what you said you were going to pay me, so you can send it to legal,’ there was no contract whatsoever involved. What we signed was nothing. It was not a contract in any shape or form.”
He went on to say that he thought the statement made the company look bad, and he feels that he made the right choice signing with WWE.
“I thought they did a great job of making themselves look like crap by putting out that statement. Just let it go. Things didn’t work out. From what I’m hearing, man did I make a great decision coming here. I’m not shameful of what I’ve done in the past with another company, but I’m disappointed.”
