La Crosse, Wisconsin was home to the WWE Smackdown Live tour Saturday night and there was no shortage of awe-inspiring spots and hard-hitting action. Before the show, Mojo Rawley was more than hyped to get it going in La Crosse because it’s always a good day to be in Packer Country if you’re Mojo.
We previously reported Curt Hawkins had some major burns for Kalisto, but the Springboard Magician was able to avoid locking up with Mr. Face The Facts in Wisconsin.
There was a four-way match for the Smackdown Women’s Title, and even though Alexa Bliss won to retain her pretty blue belt, there were more than a few people who were thrilled to see the Queen of Harts.
Everyone was so over in this match between Mickie James, Natalya, Tamina, and Alexa Bliss that it was hard to even tell who was supposed to be the face or heel in the encounter.
American Alpha toppled The Usos in La Crosse, but the Samoan Twins didn’t go down without a fight.
Dean Ambrose finally got his hands on Baron Corbin in La Crosse and this was said to be a very hard hitting match-up. It’s great to see they’re pairing these two together at house shows before their inevitable collision at WrestleMania 33 so they can put forth the best match they can in Orlando. Corbin had some major heel heat on him too, which is a good thing; that means he’s doing his job well.
Of course, Dean reigned supreme during the closing moments of this battle but he won via DQ, but that means he still retained the Intercontinental Title. It’s very interesting to see Baron Corbin is being booked in such a way as to not lose any heat at live events. Reports coming out of La Crosse said this was the hottest match of the night in regards to fan response.
The main event of the evening saw Bray Wyatt and AJ Styles square off in a fantastic dream match. The Eater of Worlds won over the Phenomenal One in the main event that nearly blew the roof off of the Las Crosse Center.
