Last year the unthinkable happened when AJ Lee returned to WWE. Lee wasted little time getting back into action as she teamed up with CM Punk to defeat Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins at the WrestlePalooza premium live event.

AJ Lee then went on to join Team Rhea at Survivor Series, and she stepped into the ring for her first singles match since 2015 on Saturday night when she challenged Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber.

After a few minutes Becky Lynch started to dominate the match as AJ Lee struggled to make a comeback. Finally AJ managed to connect with a bulldog, followed by a tornado DDT, followed by a shining wizard.

Becky pulled the cover off of the top turnbuckle, but the referee saw it and tried to put the turnbuckle pad back on. As the referee was trying to put the turnbuckle pad on Becky pushed AJ Lee into her. Becky then tried to hit AJ with a kick as AJ ducked. Lynch ended up hitting the referee instead which temporarily took the ref out of the match.

AJ Lee applied Black Widow and Becky tapped out. However, the referee didn’t see it as she was still down. Becky grabbed a steel chair and threw it into the ring then fought with AJ on the outside.

Back in the ring AJ tried for another tornado DDT, but Becky blocked it and hit AJ with a DDT on the chair. Becky then woke up the referee and connected with the Manhandle Slam. Lynch was shocked as AJ Lee kicked out at two.

Becky tried to throw AJ into the exposed turnbuckle as the referee intervened and blocked her. Becky then ran toward the corner as she tried to hit AJ, but AJ moved out of the way, so Becky ended up running into the exposed turnbuckle. AJ locked in the Black Widow right after and made Becky Lynch tap out to become the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
