The Motor City Machine Guns have been one of the top tag teams in professional wrestling for decades now and last year Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley made their big debut with WWE. Before they officially signed with WWE it was reported that the Motor City Machine Guns had also been in talks with AEW, and it sounds like AEW had plans to feature the team at All In last year.

Fightful Select reports that while the Motor City Machine Guns were in talks with AEW the company was planning to book a big Young Bucks vs. Motor City Machine Guns title feud for All In.

At some point during the summer communication between the two sides went radio silent, and AEW assumed that the Motor City Machine Guns would be heading to WWE. The decision was then made to pivot to The Young Bucks vs. The Acclaimed vs. FTR for the AEW Tag Team Titles at All In.

Ultimately the Motor City Machine Guns decided to sign with WWE and shortly after they debuted they won the WWE Tag Team Championship for the first time in their career. Currently Sabin and Shelley are competing in the tag team division on SmackDown.
